This photograph was taken in early August on the 12km return hike to Black Rock in the Coffin Bay National Park. At this time of year, the park was almost completely empty - except for handful of campers in the 2wd accessible camp at Yangie Bay. After staying at the Black Springs campsite for a few nights, I had not seen another person or vehicle during that time - only dolphins, king george whiting and heavy rain. On this day, the rain was settled in, with showers passing over due to the strong winds. One shower would stop - then another would come along. Looking south the view towards the Avoid bay islands was definitely impressive, however I opted for focussing all of my attention on the cliffs to the north.
