Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula is about 80kms south of Adelaide. A charming little coastal town with exquisite scenery. This photograph was taken from a bay not far from Victor Harbor called Petrel Cove. This photograph tells the story of a cloudy sunset in mid-winter. The dark sky emphasises the turquoise colour of the sea, and contrasts the rock formations created by the wild conditions. The leading lines of the sea washing up on the rocks, draw the viewers eye along the detailed foreground towards West Island in the distance.
As I have a tendency to do with a lot of my images, I have used a very long exposure to soften the ocean and simplify the scene.
